Well I'm glad. I made them so the tails wouldn't show damage if they detached because I figured there was a good chance of it in shipping. It's pretty sad when I have to purposely design a pony around potential breakage!! It would be interesting to ship a shock sensor in a box to measure how much abuse they go through in the hands of the wonderful post office
Indeed, I also remember reading a book some time ago that said $25-50 is one of the most ideal impulse buying price ranges. High enough you can often make a decent amount per sale, and low enough that even relatively cheap people will be willing to cave if they like what they see. Of course given that was a book on mass market sales written in the 00's.... XD|XP
Yeah, it still seems hit and miss. I'll see how this goes. I have already been contacted for new commissions but I just see myself getting upset at how much I am selling my time for. I wouldn't do it at all if it didn't make people happy!
There's a lot of times where it's good not to think about what you are making for time... Another impotent aspect of things is to be enjoying the work! It's not that bad to think about cheap time when it's at least as fun as playing a grind style game.
I'd ask if you where excited about any of the new commissions, but that might considered inappropriate to ask let alone ask in a public comment. XD
no, it's okay. I am more scared than excited. Someone commissioned me to do a 2 pony sculpture and had no idea what they wanted. I said the only idea that popped into my mind....a ponyback ride. I have no idea how I am going to pull that off!. When I sculpt the first pony she will have to have her mane alreadt before I attach the other pony and because of that there will be color contamination from attaching the other pony. Then there is just the simple fact of making it strong enought to support the weight. it's gonna be tough.
That seems to happen a lot with about every form of art and everything else really, people want stuff but have not a clue of what they want... A pony back ride could be pretty cool to see! Are you going to go with 2x full grown like we saw in "hearth's warming eve" or Filly + Adult?
Dose seem like it could turn out to be an interesting adventure to get everything figured out and setup right especially using modeled baking clay...
