DERPY Snowglobe custom sculpture 4 sale by MadPonyScientist DERPY Snowglobe custom sculpture 4 sale by MadPonyScientist
Just a different view so you can see Derpy floating around.

Derpy Snowglobe from Season 2 Episode 18 : A Friend In Deed

eBay : [link]

video : [link]

Shake it and Derpy floats around aimlessly just like in that episode.

Okay, so here is the Derpy snowglobe people have asked for. Everything in the snowglobe was sculpted, including the snowflakes! Some of those tiny pieces on the window frames were less than .5 mm thick. I probably should have just painted them and they might have looked better but I just wanted to see if I could do it. Anyway, hope you like it because I am not likely to do it again!! It was that difficult :)

curses! I was outbid on this awesome little trinket on ebay!
It's still so cool to look at~!
I was totally prepared to be like "I have Derpy in a snow-globe!! Your argument is invalid!!" XD

Sorry you were outbid but I'm glad you liked it. If I get the extra time I might do another one since I have 2 more of those style snow-globes! I say MIGHT because it was very time consuming considering the $50 that it went for. I know a lot of people think $50 is a lot for a snowglobe but the reality is that I spent probably 10 hours in the sculpting and then trying to get the right mixture inside and then with the pictures and video it was probably closer to 12 hours so $50 minus the cost of the materials means I made less than $4 an hour!

That's why I don't know if I will make another one. I knew that one was going to be a pain in the butt before I ever started it. It is too small for my fingers and took way too much time but people kept asking someone to make one and since I am the guy that always seems to make the complicated sculptures I figured I had to do it. I also don't blame anyone for not wanting to pay more than $50 for a plastic snowglobe. My other snowglobes were large, glass and musical so I see where people would pay over $100 for them but not this one. It was cute and awesome because it was like the one in the show but money is money. Anyway, I just wanted to explain why I did that one even though I knew I would make far less than minimum wage on it :)

Well I hope to start in tomorrow. It will probably only take me 3 or 4 day but I have to wait on a part.

Waiting for parts can be pretty killer on a time frame...

Yeah, it is really annoying because the place is in Canada but it takes 3 weeks to get here! I think they must use carrier pigeons or something, I could get it faster from Hong Kong except the only ones that have it are these jokers in Canada so I have no choice. The sad part is that I am not even sure it will work

You do have to wonder about some international shipping...
Some times when I buy stuff from Hong Kong, Russia or the UK it's here in a week. Other times it takes 2-3 weeks... although I did just get a package 3 weeks ago from a company based in London which I had reported as never showing up and got a refund for 3 months ago after waiting 2 months...
In the case of Canada though you would think they would be a lot quicker... not having an ocean to go over and all... XP

I first ordered a push button voice module for the talking Luna and TS sculpture from Hong Kong. It took about 10 days like all the things I have ordered from there. For the talking Rainbow Dash I made I figured I would get it in 3 or 4 days if I ordered it from Canada. 3 weeks! This one is a voice module that has a light sensor to activate it and it isn't available form the Hong Kong sellers, only that place in Canada so I just get to wait and wait. I asked them if there was a faster method if I paid the extra cost and they said they can ship it through UPS 2 day for $28 or overnight for $57. What about just plain old first class mail? When I send a package to Canada that only weighs a few ounces is costs a little over $4 and it only takes a few days. If they offered that they could double the cost to make their profit and that would have been fine but from the only option being their $3.99 shipping that takes 3 weeks to the 2 day option for $28 is pretty ridiculous!

INormal. It just boggles my mind to think of how much time it would take to make one that big. That guy on DA has been doing that 3 foot Luna for several months and is still not finished. It wouldn't take me that long but it would still take a few weeks doing it every day and I would have no way to cook her so I would have to use air dry clay which I hate. Just boggles my mind :)
